Mad About Plants

Mad About Plants is the largest wholesale nursery north of Townsville supplying the landscape industry, growing approximately 16 acres of plants just south of Cairns. We are located in a region where the rainforest meets the reef in the heart of the “Greenhouse of Australia”. Our mild winters and excellent growing conditions enable us to produce most plants to any size for the landscape industry and retail market all year round. These perfect growing conditions enable us to guarantee supply for the southern spring markets when other areas are still too cold.

We grow predominantly trees, palms, shrubs, indoor plants and ground covers. Our nursery utilises the latest techniques and technologies available, continually looking for smarter ways to improve propagation, potting, watering, growing media etc., to produce a superior product.

Ensuring stock arrives onsite in A1 condition is imperative to the customer and ourselves. Consequently we offer our own delivery service to the North and for orders further a field Cairns has excellent road, rail, air and sea facilities for despatching stock within Australia and overseas. We also ensure we comply with all DPI rules prior to despatch.

The staff at Mad About Plants are the nursery’s greatest asset, having a combined 67 years nursery experience. Our commitment to quality is second to none. We are proud members of the Nursery & Garden Industry of Queensland, with our Director having a position on the industry’s Management Committee. We have recently won the Prime Minister's Small Business of the Year Award.
